Amandla and Zander Hawley’s band, Honeywater, has released their new song, “Am I Your Man.” Their upcoming EP, Wonder, set for release on November 21, is now available for pre-order.
Today is Amandla’s 18th birthday! I’ve made a video featuring videos from the past year, (as well as a few others) make sure to check it out below, and wish Amandla a happy birthday!
The first trailer for Amandla’s movie As You Are was just released! Amandla will be playing Sarah alongside Charlie Heaton and Owen Campbell in the film directed by Miles Joris-Peyrafitte. It was also shown at the San Sebastian festival yesterday. Unfortunately, Amandla could not attend due to Everything, Everything filming.
Amandla’s birthday is coming up! She’ll be turning 18 on October 23! To celebrate, I’ll be doing my first birthday project for her. It’ll be a long video that I will put on my YouTube channel and try to send to her. I will be accepting pictures of you with a sign, videos of you wishing her a happy birthday, typed out messages, picture edits, and video edits. However, I might not include your music for video edits as I will already have music for the edit in general. Please try your best to keep videos under 20 seconds, if you’d like yours to be longer, please ask me about it ahead of time. I will be having a limit of 2 submissions, and they are all due October 15. To enter, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Make sure to include your name, country, and submission. If you have a question about any of the rules, please let me know via Instagram or email.
Thank you and I’m excited to see what you come up with! If you can, please spread the word about this, I’d love for as many people as possible to join!
Amandla attended the “Best To You” and “Morris From America” premieres at Sundance NEXT on August 13, in Los Angeles.

Amandla was featured in Glamour’s September Issue!
She and Rowan Blanchard shared a selfie to which Amandla wrote “The thing that makes makeup or clothing or fashion beautiful is the fact that the person wearing them loves themselves and loves being able to use them as artistic tools. Find beauty in your core first before you go out into the world and find it in other ways.”
Amandla was then asked to describe herself, to which she said “Amandla Stenberg is a social activist, an artist, and a lover of the 2007 emo scene as well as Trader Joe’s cookies. She believes in finding beauty in your core first before you go out into the world.”
She participated in the American Women Perform 13 Classic Dance Moves in 60 Seconds video where she did the “Cha Cha Slide” starting at 0:33.
